4-H Mission Mandate - Citizenship 4-H has always placed emphasis on the importance of young people being engaged, well-informed citizens. By connecting to their communities and leaders, youth understand their role in civic affairs and are able to expand their role in decision-making processes.
The national 4-H Citizenship Task Force has developed a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service 4-H toolkit to guide 4-H clubs in conducting projects that will be of service to local communities and honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Make this “a day on, NOT a day off. The day of service can be a kick-off for a year of service that inspires 4-H clubs across the country to continue mobilizing Head, Heart, Hands and Health to assist families coping with tough times. |
